Clay's Foundation

LET'S BUILD US ALL UP, BUTTERCUP

I'm going to work my little ex-development-director-for-public-radio fingers to the bone, trying to help get Clay's foundation in place ASAP. Or at least a lock box to accept donations. The problem with sending messages to 19E by buying CDs is that it is precisely the message they knew they would get as they snicker all the way to the bank. They have set themselves up for maximum return on their investment through the "tied" results with Ruben ostensibly on top.

Buttercup

Oh, I'll buy CDs, all right. But I want to see something pure come out of this. Something meaningful. Something near to Clay's heart. We have the chance to take all of this wonderful energy and communal emotion and build something of value, far removed from the chimera of television sweeps and Murdochian manipulation. (I just had a thought about a non-money-based community action effort organized around Buttercup Bodhisattva. We have a huge base with which to effect real change, loves. I'm truly excited by the possibilities. If we are depressed and angry, the FOX/19E energy wins the day.)

Driving to work, I saw it...the Buttercup Foundation. A pay it forward kinda deal. For instance, I am going to register with my local volunteer clearinghouse today, something I've meant to do for about forever, and award myself a buttercup. I think that even more than dollar donations, Clay would love donations of time and love and community activity. Any web designers Out There? Let's build us a www.buttercup.org organization.
