The Voice & The Totality of the Goodness of Clayton Aiken Day Day of THE VOICE and the Totality of the Goodness of Clayton Aiken Today Lecherous Broads for Clay Aiken is celebrating our first Official day of The Voice. Because The Voice is what drew many of us in first. The Voice is what got many of us to keep watching a cheesy TV show. The Voice is what made many of us weak in the knees, made our jaws drop, made our toes curl, and made our nether regions do the butterfly dance. It's The Voice that puts the Big Goofy Grin on our faces, on our entire beings. For many, it was the first verse of "Always and Forever" that drew us in. For others, it was "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me," or, "Sugar Pie Honey Bunch." Many fell in love the first time we heard Clay sing "Somewhere Out There," or, "Build Me Up Buttercup," or "Solitaire," or, "To Love Somebody." The Voice is what Neil Sedaka called "perfection,' then nearly cried over, what Gladys Knight called "pure," and what Lionel Ritchie called "the smoking gun." Many of us sent away for demo CDs, and learned to enjoy The Voice in it's youth, with "I Know How the River Feels," and "Dream Lover," and "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me," and "Look What Love has Done," and "More to this Life," and "Unchained Melody," and "Blood Will Never Lose it's Power." And we fell in love over and over and over. Some showed up later, and discovered The Voice with "This is the Night," and "Bridge Over Troubled Water." More are discovering The Voice at the concert tour, and are singing the praises of "Invisible." We love The Voice. But, we found we couldn't pay tribute to The Voice of Clay Aiken, without paying tribute to the Entire Being of Clay Aiken. Because, it is The Voice about which we are in awe, but it is the Totality of the Goodness of Clayton Aiken that inspires. We love to listen to him sing, but, we also love to hear him talk. And laugh. It is his endering personality, his wit, his charm, his humility, his generosity, his compassion, his faith, his love for his mama, his devotion to children, his desire to teach children with special needs, his intelligence, his vocabulary, his eagerness, his playfulness, and his zest for life. We find the totality of the goodness of Clayton Aiken entirely captivating. Yes, we rave about his looks, too. Whether he's being geeky Clay, or goofy Clay, or giggly Clay, or sizzling hot gyrating Clay. But it is the combination of Clay's voice, looks, ways, character and personality, that drives us wild. He brings It. All of It. Our Idol came into our lives with an established committment to charitable organizations, such as The Autism Society and The YMCA, Fan websites devoted to Clay's charities, or to supporting charitable action, have popped up around the internet. Such as Clay's Bridge, and Project Gonzo, and Angel in the Night-The Clay Aiken Project, and Look What Love Has Done. (Click here, and scroll down, for a list of Clay-related charitable opportunities.) On the Wildcard Results show, Clay hugged everyone on the couch, who didn't win, before taking his place center stage. Then, went back and hugged them all again after he sang. Our Idol started talking about using whatever celebrity status his success offered him to promote the causes he cares about. To help other people. Ryan pressed Clay, about whether the money and the fame mattered at all. It was as if others' couldn't quite believe Clay really is that big-hearted and generous. So, he showed us all, again. Apparently exhausted, Clay found time to go to Washington DC earlier this week, to promote the American Film Institute Screen Education Center. When he announced his eagerly awated foundation, many of us choked up at the name, Bubel Aiken Foundation. He could have hogged the glory, and called it the Clay Aiken Foundation. But, that wouldn't be What Clay Would Do.
We love This Man. Nelle
