A Bigger Classroom
In this small tent halfway around the world,
it doesn't matter whether or not Clay can dance
or what songs are on his next album
who will play in his band
what his website looks like
who gets a meet and greet
where he'll tour
how much tickets cost
how his fan club will work
who is in his entourage
how many layers he's wearing
what his hair is doing
or how green his eyes are.
All those things have their place and time, but here in this small tent,
this is the only music that matters
the only band he needs
the only dancing
the only tour
the only meet and greet
the only communication
the only club
the only performance
the only audience.
In this small tent, the little things don't matter,
but the littlest things mean a lot.
It's only a small tent,
but in it Clay found his bigger classroom,
a classroom for him
and for us.
