In Memory of Ray Parker
Out of respect for Clay Aiken and his family, the ladies and gentlemen of LBFCA agreed to commemorate the first anniversary of the death of Clay's father by dedicating today's diary to Ray Parker. In a recent magazine article Clay was quoted, as saying Ray Parker, his mother's second husband, "is the only dad I ever had." On American Idol, Faye Parker, Clay's mother, spoke of the encouragement Clay received from Ray: "His dad was a very good support of his...thought Clayton should be singing somewhere all these years...he was a wonderful supporter." In gratitude for all the ways that Ray Parker contributed to the life of Clayton Holmes Aiken, the LBFCA extends our comforting thoughts and warm regards to Clay and his loved ones. As an additional way to honor this day, we at LBFCA recommend visitors go to Clay's Bridge, a site developed to pay tribute to the selfless acts of giving demonstrated by Clay Aiken. We ask participants in the LBFCA to share a moment of silence today, in memory of Ray Parker, and honor a one-hour period of not posting in the Guest Book, and not searching for or reading online news about Clay, beginning at noon, Eastern Daylight Time (11 am Central, 10 am Mountain, 9 am Pacific, etc.) blog comments powered by Disqus |
