How to Have Your BEVR Displayed (edited 5-8-04)

So, you want to show us your BEVR? Well, we are Lecherous Broads, so we want to see it!

This is one of those non-lecherous instructional MPs, that will be linked to the MP after it is archived. Don't worry, something better is coming along any moment now.

Here's how to send in your Broad's Eye View Report for display upon a Main Page.

It appears there are A LOT more Broads going to some concerts for The Coming Tour than for the ClayLive Summer Tour of 2003. The MP Broads won't be able to post 25-40 BEVRs for each Broadfest! We encourage Group BEVRs as much as possible. For excellent examples of group BEVRs, see:

The MP Broads have two special email accounts now set up for receiving BEVRs. Send your BEVR to ONE or THE OTHER, not both.

Please include your signature/name, "BEVR," and the city of your concert in the subject line of your email.

Nelle has oft-confessed control issues, and wants to continue the tradition of having "BEVR: Broad Name/Location" at the top of every BEVR. (No, it has not slipped Nelle's attention that the examples linked above do not follow this format....just because Nelle has control issues, does not mean she always gets her way.) Nelle would also like to add the DATE of the concert to each BEVR title. You can give your BEVR another title, if you want, which will appear as a subtitle.

We prefer BEVRs to be sent in a Microsoft Word attachment (some of us cannot easily open wordpad or Works, or other attachment formats). If you do not have Word, just paste the BEVR into the actual email. Please do NOT use a program like FrontPage or HomePage to save as HTML. If you want to add HTML code in by hand, we appreciate it. But some of these programs add in code that causes problems in Diaryland. Just plain text is best.

If you have any photos/images, please send them in separate attachments, preferably in jpg or gif format. Please do NOT have your photos/images embedded in the text of your BEVR, but include instructions in the text as to where to place each image/photo. If you send a photo you found online, we try as often as possible to name the source, if not the photographer, then the site.

The less we have to make decisions about your BEVR the better...please do not ask us to choose from a selection of photos, or choose where to place photos/images in your BEVR. Please do not ask us to find photos online for your BEVR.

The primary expense of running LBFCA is for hosting images. We need everyone to choose carefully when sending photos/images. We have not made up a limit number, but if we get a BEVR with too many photos, we will trim it. Do not include photos of other Broads/fans with their names...unless you have their permission to identify them online.

If you have been around LBFCA awhile, you know we are proud of our MPs. BEVRs have been edited for content in the past, and we reserve the right to do so again in the future.

Please do your best to review and edit your BEVR before you email it....going back and editing is possible, but it is also time consuming.

Please do your best to send in your BEVR in a timely manner. Fresh BEVR is always popular. The MP Broads will do our best to post the BEVRs as they come, also in a timely manner. If we get many BEVRs at the same time, they cannot all stay up on the top MP for a whole day. Please be patient with us about that.

Be sure to 'sign' your BEVR the way you want it to appear on the Main Page.

Now, don't let all those admonitions scare you off. I have yet to have anyone email me after her BEVR was displayed to say she didn't enjoy the experience. But, I've fielded plenty of emails from Broads who were afraid their BEVR wasn't up to snuff before they shared it. Remember the words that appeared at the end of every BEVR from the ClayLive Summer Tour:

"Don't worry about your BEVR not being the same size or looking the same as anyone elses. Here at LBFCA we celebrate diversity. Every BEVR is unique."
