When Obsessions Collide ...

Okay ... When Nelle asked me to cap Clay's AI coverage of Fantasia's Party in Greensboro ... I said ... "Sure, no prob ..."

"Coffee?"

"Yes, please ..."

"You realize the ACM Awards are on don't you? Keith Urban ... Sara Evans ... "

"Oh good lord!"

Well, I have a confession ... I am a Country Music Addict ... don't know why ... but like so many of us are returning to the joy of our youth ... I too have returned to the music of mine ... rural life dictated three things ... country music, church socials and potato salad with almost every meal. For years I have rebelled against all those things ... well, the potato salad not so much ...

What does this have to do with Clay? Not much ... other than me having my TV with surround sound on the ACMA's ... while the TV on my computer (2 feet away) was tuned to AI ... doing more than one thing at a time ... enjoying multiples as Nelle would say ...

So while I capped for Nelle ... I kept one ear open to the other TV ... my fingers were clicking so fast ... changing channels ... click, "ohh that's good" ... click ... "oooh that's good" ... click ...

"Where is Clay? Don't these people know the only reason anyone is watching this show is becos Clay Aiken is on it?"

"Why is Jennifer Love on here?"

"She's a fan ..."

"What is Paula doing?"

"She must have seen the 'bewbie' pic and wants in on some of the action ..."

"HAHAHAHAHA ..."

"Okay ... uh, Tamyra is butchering this ... "

"No kidding ... Well, this was certainly something we KNOW Clay Aiken could have done ... BETTER!"

"Okay, Ryan is going to the dressing rooms now ... he's so cute ..."

"Oh good lord! Kimberme Caldwell!!"

"She definitely has been introduced to foundation ..."

"HA! Good one honey! ... Oh ... here he is!"

"I used to dress like that .. in 1982!"

"Uh huh, and Clay was 4 then and you were ... too old for me to do the math ... no wait ... you were 16!"

"Aw look ... Kelly is singing "Beautiful Disaster" in a beautifully disastrous ballerina outfit ... Where are the ARM PUFFS??? I heard Clay likes those ..."

"Oh Lord ... here's Ruben .. singing the same four notes he sang in Sorry 2004 ... hey, listen, I can sing along ... Sorry for 2004 ... it's a different song - but it fits perfectly!!! Suggestion for next year ... just let Ryan and Clay run the show! Ryan hosts ... Clay sings ..."

"I'm going upstairs ... Sara Evans is about to sing ... You can have the Penman ... "

"Oh Gawd ... I can't believe Clay was wildcard last year and THAT was wildcard this year ... he is kinda cute though ... Oh look! The Tony's are being hosted by HUGH JACKMAN!"

"Okay ... Clay will be here ... waiting ... Clay ... dang ... where is he! Don't they KNOW that's why all those people are there ... who cares who wins ... they just want to See Clay! Well, I'll be ... ask and ye shall receive ... "

"Oh my god .. he said 'erected' ... and he pointed out that there were only 6000 people there ... (there were 8000 last year for him) ... and I would bet ... half the people there are 'there' to see him! Who am I talking to?"
