Draw Some! A few weeks ago, Clay laid down the gauntlet. In his blog, he said he had no new pictures for us because Nick had the camera out of town. But the little sh... er, Clay said he has faith in our creative abilities and challenged us to "draw some!" Who does he think he is? Ordering us around like that? As if we are his bitc...er, obedient creative and enthusiastic fans! Oh, that's right. We are. When Clay says draw, we draw. (Be careful what you ask for, Clay!) Luckily, we had a good example from the man himself of just what to do. Look at the boldness of his strokes, the firmness of his line. He's such a renaissance man!
Shine in NC followed Clay's example, channeling her inner artist
and thinking seasonal.
Pam carried on the holiday theme, capturing the spirit of Christmas in Vancouver.
Before long, the art studio at the Ranch was humming with activity. How could it not be when we had such a gorgeous model? Jannet was inspired by Clay's thighs
Karen Nyreeeeeee by his face
Wendy by his big ... mic
Lila by his Fashion Week gaze
Nelle, naturally, by the Vermont Tie Yank
Karen Eh was inspired by her photo of Clay's shirt and tie on stage after his Kettering strip show, to create a special fantasy...
Sue had her own lecherous dream
and Broad Georgia O'Keefe (what, you didn't know she was a Broad?) painted another of her famous flower paintings.
Some Broads, like MGM Pat, tried to capture the beauty of Clay.
Others, like Jane P. and
Kathy in Hershey did non-representational paintings to express the love for Clay we have in our hearts. (Yes, our hearts.)
And some Broads, well some Broads just got carried away.
Sunday in the Park with Clay, indeed. Rainee Sue used her art to make a statement on behalf of the artistically challenged,
but then Jynnan Tonix proved that Clay also loves gurrls who can draw, and draw exceptionally well. Upon seeing Jynnan Tonix's masterpiece, Odin was not to be outdone. He built some tiny cat-sized scaffolding and after weeks of feline agony and ecstasy, the ceiling of the Ranch featured a grand new mural. Inspired by Odin, Raleigh decided to try her paw at painting (yes, she's a Broad too. Can't you tell?) This is one from Raleigh's blue period. And this one is from Clay's blue period. And green period. And orange period.....Now that's a long career. No fifteen minutes only for him. Artquest discovered that Leonardo da Vinci knew a Lecherous Broad or two back in his day
which might explain this mysterious da Vinci-esque drawing discovered--after breaking an intricate code--in a secret chamber in the Ranch
(we had to bring back the good old Blue Bar of Modesty for this one) So there you go, Clay. We were up to the challenge. We rose
to the occasion. Now get back in the studio. It's time for life drawing class,
and we need a model. *** --written by Katynka, Nelle, and Melissa --drawings by the Broads as credited --photoshops by Katynka blog comments powered by Disqus |
