Jersey Auction Information

Remember this?

Or how about these??

Well, now you may have a chance to drool over the real article (as opposed to a computer screen). The Bubel/Aiken Foundation, is holding a charity jersey auction, starting October 15th! Check out their press release for more information:

CLAY AIKEN'S BUBEL/AIKEN FOUNDATION TO AUCTION JERSEYS AND AIKENS DEBUT CD TO BENEFIT YOUTH WITH SPECIAL NEEDS

The Bubel/Aiken Foundation is selling the shirts right off Clays back.

Raleigh, N.C., October 9The measure of THIS man, Clay Aiken, is simple. Start with his talent and finish with the size of his heartfelt commitment to individuals with developmental disabilities.

Clays first single, This is the Night, debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and became the second highest selling single of all time. This month, he is featured in TIME, Elle and on "Primetime Live with Diane Sawyer" (October 9, 2003). And with the October 14 release of his debut CD, Measure of a Man, now is the chance for a lucky few to own what is sure to be an exciting piece of pop music history!

Beginning October 15, 2003, the Bubel/Aiken Foundation will hold an online auction of a limited number of tugged, hugged, and altogether loved jerseys worn by Clay on his recent concert tour during his performances of his irresistible new hit song, Invisible.

The jerseys are already autographed and each is waiting to be personalized by Clay with the buyers NAME once the lucky winners are known. Ten copies of Measure of a Man, autographed and personalized by Clay, will also be on the auction block.

The auction can be accessed online through Look What Love Has Done. The auction will be open until November 12, 2003. Canadian Clay Aiken fans will have an exclusive offering.

All proceeds from the auction will go to The Bubel/Aiken Foundation, a non-profit organization devoted to the integration of individuals with special needs in programs with their non-disabled peers.

A message from Bubel/Aiken's LWLHD about the auction, raffle, and birthday drive:

The auction has been pushed back from its originally announced beginning date of October 10th so that the focus on the day of Clay's CD release may remain upon Clay's music.

For those of you attending the CD Release parties, fliers about the auction as well as about the Bubel/Aiken Foundation will be availabe to pass around should you be interested. Check the LWLHD site to download copies of the release and fliers, or email us at [email protected], and we'll send you the files.

No fundraising will be performed at the parties, but it's Clay's hope that attention to his CD will bring attention to his foundation. We all know what's most important to Clay: "It's not the money. It's not the fame. It's the influence."

A raffle of two of the jerseys will be held for North Carolina residents only, with tickets going on sale October 10th at various locations in North Carolina which will be publized in advance. The drawing will be November 1st. Due to restrictions imposed by various state gaming laws, the raffle will only be available to residents of North Carolina. As state laws allow, the Bubel/Aiken Foundation may hold raffles in other states in the future. Raffle tickets may also be purchased by North Carolinians online at the Look What Love Has Done website. Address confirmation will be required for proof of North Carolina residency.

And, finally, the giving campaign for Clay's birthday will begin after the auction is under way. For those of you unable to participate in either the auction or raffle, this is your chance to contribute to the cause Clay holds closest to his heart: helping those with special needs. Details about the birthday campaign will be provided in the very near future.

For more information about the auction and raffle, please visit the Look What Love Has Done website. This is your chance to own a piece of pop history. We all know Clay's star is rising. Maybe one day you can tell the youngsters how you knew about Clay way back when--and here's proof.

Clay has expressed his amazement again and again at the overwhelming generosity of his fans. Whether you can participate in the auction or the raffle, or whether you contribute to the Bubel/Aiken Foundation in any other way, you can be sure you are helping make Clay's dreams and those of many with developmental disabilities come true.

As always, thank you for your support. Clay's fans are, quite simply, the best.
